Undertale #2 The Ruins

After knowing that we could use MERCY to end the battle,
I started to walk aroung in the ruins.
Doing some puzzles in here, I was gradually familiar with this game.

This is Whimsun.

Actually, I didn't have to do anything because it didn't want to fight me.

MERCY! That's easy!

VOC.
lavender:
a pale bluish purple

VOC.
mothballs:
a small ball that placed in closets or other storage areas to repel moths from clothing, blankets, etc.

In a room, I saw a bowl of Monster Candies, and I took a candy from it.

When I wanted to take another one, I was scolded...

VOC.
licorice:
a Eurasian plant that used to make sweets
Walking for a while, I got a phonecall from Toriel, and she asked me whether I liked cinnamon or butter scotch.

Ummmm....

Butter scotch! Definitely!

Phrase
turn up one's nose:
to not accept something because you do not think it is good enough for you

Ohh, be confident, Toriel.

"Three out of four grey rocks recommend you to push them?"

But, soon I found the one refused me to push him.

Ummm, were you the one that didn't recommend me to push you, huh?

Maybe...we could talk?
Rock: "So you are Asking me to move over?"

Yeah,negociation success!

Later, I got in a room that its grounds were full of cracks.
Expectly, I fell in those cracks.

Underneath was a bunch of leaves and a path.
This might help me to solve the puzzle.

I just wanted to read the sign, I really didn't step on the leaves in purpose...

Moldsmal blocked the way.

I did nothing and win the battle...

This game really didn't encourage monster to fight us. :)

Knowing the mouse might get the cheese someday, I filled with determination!

Walking deeper, I saw a ghost (carpet?) laid on the ground and blocked my way.

This ghost keeps saying 'z' out loud repeatedly, pretending to sleep.

Do you want to move it in force?
    Yes ✓          No

Then...here comes Napstablook.

Napstablook?  Took the nap on the ground and blocked me?

-ACT-
⋇ Check                         ⋇ Flirt (?)
⋇ Threat                        ⋇ Cheer ✔
It looked like that she was afraid of humans.
But my cheering seems to have improved Napstablook's mood again.

"I usually come to the ruins because there's nobody around..."
"but today I met somebody nice..."

VOC.
ramble:
To move about aimlessly

Spider Bake Sale
All proceeds go to real spiders.

I spend 7G to buy a Spider Donut.

Loox drew near.   "Please don't pick on me"

-ACT-
⋇ Check                        ⋇ Pick On
⋇ Don't Pick On  ✔
Phrase:
pick on = to criticize
Froggit:
"Monster wears a Yellow name when you can Spare it."

"Ribbit, maybe one day, you'll have to spare even if their name isn't yellow."

"Is there any meaning in it's words?" I thought.

  1. Yo, Jacky, it's me again, Hans.

It seems that you got familiar with the game quickly, right? It was easy for you to spare the monsters in Ruins. But later, it would become more and more difficult to do so! You might select "act" many times and finally find the way to spare them.

"Napstablook? Took the nap on the ground and blocked me?"
Hahaha, Jaccky, Sans hasn't shown up yet and you started to play puns?

"I spend 7G to buy a Spider Donut."
Keep it and someday it will come in handy someday.

"Is there any meaning in it's words?" I thought.
I guess, although some monsters don't want to be spared by you at first. They don't mean it. You have to interact with them heart by heart, show your sincerity, be a friend of them, and they will be touched by you, willing to be spared by you. And that's the core value of this game, "no one has to die."

Jacky, this game isn't simple and easy. Be strong and spare as more monsters as you can. You will find the most precious treasure in this game.

  2. Hi, Hans.

Definitely, monsters are all unique, thus they have their own solution to their problems.
Only when you fulfill those monsters, they can be spared.

As I go deeper into the underground, the monster's attacks might cause me more damages.
But I think if I dodge their attacks as I can, I can finally reach "the yellow spare button."

Unfortunately, I ate the spider dount.

Monsters seemed not so aggressive when I show my sincerity, this makes me have "determination" to spare all of them!

Thanks, hope that you will see the end of my blog!
